Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC)

Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) is a scientific society of Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India. It is a premier R&D institution for the design, development, and deployment of electronic and ICT technologies and applications for socio-economic advancement with the mission of expanding the frontiers of Information and Communication Technologies, evolving technology solutions, architectures, systems and standards for nationally important problems, achieving a rapid and effective spread of knowledge by overcoming language barriers through the application of technologies, sharing experience and know-how to help build advanced competence in the field of Information Technology, bringing benefits of Information Technology to society, and utilizing the Intellectual Property generated by converting it to business opportunities.

C-DAC set up the Advanced Computing Training School (ACTS) in 1993 to meet the ever-increasing skilled manpower requirements of the Information Communication Technologies (ICT) industry as well as supplement its intellectual resource base for cutting-edge research and development.

C-DAC’s Programme for Advancing Computer Education (PACE) operating since 1996 caters to computer education and IT skilling at the grass root levels of society. It aims to meet the growing demand for IT skilled human resources in the field of multilingual computing and allied services.

Objectives of C-DAC PACE

C-DAC PACE was established in 1996 to provide training in fundamental and basic computer courses, promoting the use of Indian languages in computing at the grassroots level of society. Since its inception, PACE has served as a bridge to bring the benefits of R&D innovations and solutions to the broader population. Over the years, adapting to changing needs, the PACE programme has evolved to address the growing demand for IT-skilled professionals in the field of ICTE adding Multi-lingual touch. In this pursuit, to fulfil the increasing demand of the ready-to-deploy manpower, C-DAC PACE invites the partner of educational nature to assist the C-DAC PACE in education and training across India. C-DAC selects and grants authorization to quality-conscious organizations in various cities and places throughout India for imparting education & training programmes and ICT related services through the Authorized Training Centre (ATC) in the approved locations on specified terms and conditions.
